A Drop Of Color

By: RIOT

Giclee on canvas
30” x 30”
1998
I was playing with an idea one day and this was the end result, this piece just happened. Like many of my pieces, it's a digital creation. The title, “A Drop Of Color” was given because of the way the colors seem to ripple.

Battle

By: RIOT

Giclee on canvas
30” x 30”
1998
This was one of the first fine art pieces I ever did. The second as a matter of fact. This digital painting got its title “Battle” from the way the color fights with the dark for equal space. If you stare at the two opposites, the black then the color, it starts to become two different paintings.

Boardom

By: RIOT

Acrylic on surfboard
6’ surfboard
2017
Boardom was inspired by my old, yellowing, dinged up surfboard. One summer day, after a long surf session, I looked at this un-surfable board and thought, “I’m bored”. So, I started creating this colorful depiction of one of my favorite sea animals, the mighty Octopus.

BoB

By: RIOT

Oil/Acrylic on wood
3’x 4’
2017,
I Love Raggae Music. One sunny Summer day in Las Vegas I created this painting of BoB. This is a popular image of BoB but I wanted to do it in my own style. It’s Like BoB is floating through the cosmos on an irie meditation

Inside

By: RIOT

Giclee on canvas

50” x 30”
1998
When you close your eyes at night and see a spectrum of color and shape. That is what this is. - I closed my eyes one night and saw this. I knew it would be my next digital painting. It has become my personal favorite.

La Selva

By: RIOT

Oil on canvas

2017
La Selva Beach is a neighborhood in the unincorporated area of Santa Cruz Ca. and is surrounded by strawberry & lavender farms. This painting is of a place near a home I lived at for a year. One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever lived.

By: RIOT

Spray paint on bamboo

6’x 8’

I was commissioned to do this piece. the client wanted a pineapple but not an ordinary pineapple. She wanted it to look like a pineapple a caveman carved into a cave wall.
It was a very fun piece to do

Rise of Strength

By: RIOT

Ink on canvas
8”x 8”
2017
Traditional tattoo style rose created as a gift from Guerrilla Culture for the Las Vegas NORML womens health and wellness benefit. I chose the rose because
it is the symbol of both strength an beauty

Spring Morning

By: RIOT

Acrylic on Canvas
18” x 20”
2017
This is a painting of The Walton Lighthouse, at the Santa Cruz Harbor. I called this painting
Spring Morning because my family and I would eat brunch at a restaurant near there and I would Just stare at the lighthouse as the sun passed behind it. After a few bloody marys, it looked even cooler.

Summer Walk

By: RIOT

Oil on canvas
20” x 20”
2017
I was inspired to paint Summer Walk as I walked down East Cliff Drive to get some Pleasure Pizza and noticed that every street sign had graffiti and stickers on them and in particularly the signs with surfer crossing.

The Sun

By: RIOT

Oil on canvas
30”x 30”
2017
This was a commission piece. The client wanted a sun that appeared
to glow, it can’t be seen here but I used alot of metalic paint
to give the glow effect

The Bluff

By: RIOT

This bluff is at 4-Mile Beach and is very special to me. Not only is it very beautiful but it is the spot where I proposed to my amazing wife, Heather.

The Hook

By: RIOT

Acrylic on canvas
24” x 36”
2017
“The Hook” is a famous surf spot on the eastside of Santa Cruz. I was fortunate to live within walking distance. This whimsical depiction was inspired by the summer days I spent surfing there and the many sunset evenings I spent lost in its colorful bliss.

The Lane

By: RIOT

Oil on canvas
24” x 36”
2017
Steamer Lane is on the west side of Santa Cruz and is one of the best point breaks in California. A must see for anyone! I painted a shark instead of the waves because it is very “Locals Only”.

The Mystery Spot

By: RIOT

Acrylic on burlap
36” x 12”
2017
The Mystery Spot is a place of very strange and magical energy, located in the redwood forest surrounding Santa Cruz. It is a place where water runs uphill and people can walk up walls. This painting was inspired by the strange and overwhelmingly weird feeling this spot has.

Unity

By: RIOT

Giclee on canvas
30” x 24”
1998
This piece is one of my personal favorites. A digital turtle immersing itself into an Impressionist style painting of a lily pond, symbolizing the “Unity” or integration of traditional fine art and digital art. This was all digitally painted, even the traditional looking paint style Monet made so famous. I especially like how we can see the turtle under the water, even though the water is supposed to be a painting on canvas.
